I think what you’re doing Nancy is getting sidetracked by *what* the confederate flag actually means and are missing the correlation: both the pussy hat and the confederate flag are symbols white people hold on to, that many people of color have protested against. Despite the protest and hurt feelings, white people still embrace the confederate flag, and white feminists still prefer to wear the pussy hat, even at the cost of alienating cis and trans women of color.
